How To Add MyQuickCloud to Your Firewall Rules #

During the installation, MyQuickCloud will automatically add exceptions into your Windows Firewall. The majority of third-party firewall applications such as AVG, McAfee and Kaspersky monitor the Windows Firewall exception list and include any exceptions in their own list of allowed applications.

However, occasionally, the anti-virus system isn’t using the Windows Firewall as a guide. In these instances, you will need to add  MyQuickCloud to your firewall rules by adding certain executable files to the inbound and outbound exception lists. Below are the executables that you should add, and a guide to where you should add them (the exact instructions vary depending on the anti-virus software that you have installed).

MyQuickCloud Client
Executable: MyQuickCloud.exe
Location: %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
Connection Type: Outbound

MyQuickCloud Server Console
Executable: MQCConsole.exe
Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Vedivi\MQCServer
Connection Type: Inbound and Outbound

MyQuickCloud Service
Executable: MQCService.exe
Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Vedivi\MQCServer
Connection Type: Inbound

Unlike some software, MyQuickCloud uses a random port for each new connection, this ensures that it is as secure as possible. For this reason, you have to add the executable files to the firewall, not open up ports, opening ports allows any traffic and can be very insecure.

Using Kaspersky? #

Kaspersky has recently blocked the secure tunnel that allows you to connect to your host remotely through MyQuickCloud. To fix this you can either turn off the Kaspersky encrypted tunnel or add an exception for the MyQuickCloud secure servers.
