When attempting to access your computer is greyed out and cannot be access because the computer is offline

Using one of our cloud servers? It is extremely rare for any of our cloud servers to be unavailable, if this is the case please contact our support team immediately.
We know how frustrating it can be to find that your computer is offline so we’ve put this article together to help you get your business back online.
Solution 1 #
In most cases someone has accidentally shut down the host at the end of the day, the host is in sleep mode or there has been a power cut in the office. The second most common cause is that the internet is temporarily down wherever the host machine is located. The best way to get your host back up and running is to have someone physically check if it is switched on and connected to the internet.
Solution 2 #
Windows, the MQC service or another application may have crashed or be caught in a memory loop. The second best way to get your host back online, if you are sure it is on and connected to the web, is to reboot it.
Solution 3 #
Sometimes Antivirus software will reset its list of protocols and approved applications during an update. We’re whitelisted with most internet firewall providers but if rebooting the host didn’t work make sure your firewall isn’t blocking your connection. Add the following as exceptions within your firewall:
MyQuickCloud Host Console
Executable: MQCConsole.exe
Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Vedivi\MQCServer
Connection Type: Inbound and Outbound
MyQuickCloud Service
Executable: MQCService.exe
Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Vedivi\MQCServer
Connection Type: Inbound
Unlike some software, MyQuickCloud uses a random port for each new connection, this ensures that it is as secure as possible. For this reason, you have to add the executable files to the firewall, not open up ports, opening ports allows any traffic and can be very insecure.
Solution 4 #
In rare circumstances it may be necessary to reinstall the host program. This is best done by our technicians so they can try and find any underlying cause but the steps are very straightforward if you wish to do them yourself. See our How To article here.
