A recent survey found that two-thirds of US employees would like to continue working remotely in the future. The majority of people are okay with pay cuts in return and are also willing to quit their jobs if they must return to work full time.
As a result, many people are willing to overlook pay cuts in exchange for not having to commute to work.
This is the conclusion of a recent survey conducted by the staffing agency Robert Half of thousands of American workers and hiring managers. In order to continue working remotely, some employees are willing to accept a wage reduction of 18%, according to Paul McDonald, a senior executive director at Robert Half.
The majority of employees who visit the office at least once a week are willing to accept a lower salary for the opportunity to work from home.
According to Robert Half, more than 2,100 recruiting managers and 2,500 American workers were surveyed in November. It was found that almost three-quarters of employees who work from home are happier and more productive even though they sometimes need to put in longer hours.
Despite companies’ reservations, McDonald asserted that remote employment will not disappear anytime soon, as 28% of jobs advertised online in January were remote. Due to concern that employees might quit for a more flexible job, some businesses don’t rush employees back to work.
