If you see warnings when trying to download MyQuickCloud products using Microsoft’s Edge or when trying to install them, then follow the steps below.

Microsoft Edge warning when downloading MyQuickCloud products #

Why does this happen? #

Microsoft Edge uses a security feature called Microsoft Defender SmartScreen. When we release a brand-new update, the file hasn’t been downloaded by enough people yet to build up a “reputation” in Microsoft’s database. Because the file is new, Edge flags it out of an abundance of caution.

Our software is fully digitally signed and secure as long as you always download the products directly from our website, https://myquickcloud.com/downloads .

Note: Digitally signed means that products we release are cryptographically signed to guarantee the code has not been altered or tampered with by third parties.

As our community downloads our updates or new versions, Microsoft’s warning will disappear automatically.

Proceed with your download #

Overview

Step 1: Locate the Downloads Menu

After clicking the download link, Microsoft Edge will open the Downloads menu in the top right corner of your browser. You will see a warning message with a shield icon next to the file (for example MyQuickCloud-Setup-Web.exe).

Step 2: Choose to Keep the File

  1. Hover your mouse over the warning message in the Downloads menu.
  2. Click on the three horizontal dots (…) that appear on the right side of the file name.
  3. From the dropdown menu, select Keep.

Step 3: Confirm “Keep Anyway”

A new window will pop up titled “Make sure you trust … before you open it.”

  1. Verify that the Publisher field correctly displays VEDIVI LIMITED (this is the parent company for MyQuickCloud).
  2. Ignore the large “Delete” button. Instead, click the down arrow (v) located on the right side of the Delete button.
  3. A small dropdown menu will appear. Click Keep anyway.

Step 4: Run the Installer

The file will now finish downloading. You can click on the file directly in your Edge Downloads list to open it, or navigate to your computer’s Downloads folder to run it and begin the installation.

If you see the warning “Windows protected your PC”, follow the steps below.

“Windows protected your PC” Warning #

You may see a blue “Windows protected your PC” or “Microsoft Defender SmartScreen” warning when launching the installer, that looks like this:

This happens when we release a new version of our products.

Why are you seeing this? #

This is a standard, automated security precaution built into Windows. Microsoft SmartScreen displays this message for any newly released software version.
